I was having another look through the Alber Elbaz interviews on the Lanvin for H&M collaberation in November and found this little clip. It got me thinking about something my Dad said to me recently.
When me and my mum were buying Mulberry handbags at the last Harrods Sale, i came away with the classic Bayswater tote in patent navy blue and she got the Mitzy Tote in a bright purple. Dad preferred mine because he said it reminded him of something his Mum’s generation used to have but Mum said that’s why she didn’t choose that style.
Our mums don’t want to look like their mums but we want to look like our Grandmothers?
I guess it changes as trends change but i’ve always had more of a classic look than my mum and she goes for unconventional looks. I suppose it’s an age thing then and it will keep on circling for generations to come.
