The Sartorialist.

I just got back into checking out Scott Schuman's blog again recently and I fell in love with it all over again. I don't care that people say 'oh, that's been done now', that's because he DID IT. Some friends and I met him at a book signing in Liberty last year and he was just the nicest person, all he could say was "I'm sorry you had to wait" and "are you having a good evening?" He was so genuine, no wonder people never mind him taking pictures of them.
You always feel like you are there when you look at his work, he has such a way of capturing a moment and a feeling in a split second that is so focused on fashion.
I can't praise him enough.

Small Confessions

I have booked a style and image consultation with a company called Red Leopard next week and we are asked to bring 10-15 of our favourite pieces of clothing and i had to admit to myself that the thing I wear mot is my Onepiece.
Bought for me for Christmas, it is the Rolls-Royce of the Onepiece world. Henry Holland has the American flag one and they are sold in Harrods and featured in tis week's Saturday magazine as a must have. I do have to admit that i LOVE it.
This is me sporting it on Christmas Day. (with paper hat)

Black Swan

I didn't hesitate when Black Swan was released in the cinema on Friday, I was straight down there and could barely contain my excitement but was also a little worried that I was going to be desperately disappointed.

I wasn't.

It was everything that I wanted in a film. I was mainly shocked by how grotesque some of the horror scenes were but I also think that that's what made it brilliant. It was beautiful, disgusting, sexy, painful and gripping. I had my stomach in knots during the entire film and had to calm down after with a glass of wine.

As a ballet dancer myself I am obviously biased towards this genre and as we heard two women leave before us telling each other how much they hated it I couldn't understand how you could fault that. Nathalie Portman has the Oscar in hand and the Rodarte designers should bag one as well as Darren Aronofsky himself.

I am going to need to see it again to be able to pick up on all of the clues given to you throughout and to be able to fully understand the whole psychological reasoning behind her actions.

At the moment it is right at the top of my Best Films Ever list and i doubt that it will be shifted from that spot soon.

My first ever animation

This was a short test animation that i did for uni when we were learning how to use Final Cut Pro. I was so happy with this little sequence I really wanted to carry on developing it but it was so time consuming having to draw every single frame of the film and photograph each picture. The ideas that i had for is were to change the music box dancer into a person and then I would use stop-animation by photographing a person in a ballet costume moving about the house.
That is what i love so much about animation and why i prefer it to film, the possibilities are so endless with animation, you can literally do anything. Whereas with film, there are always limitations. What you envisage in your mind is not always achievable.

Nicole Farhi Sale

When I went to the Harrods Christmas Sale I was trying to make it my mission to buy a pair of smart, stylish, comfortable trousers to wear during work experience and did find a very chic navy blue skinny pair in CĂ©line but they were about a foot too long with zips on the bottom (unalterable).
Since then, I have had no luck at all but today I remembered that i will soon be visiting Cheshire Oaks Shopping village and had a cheeky look as to what are there. Nicole Farhi popped up, so off I went to the website, SALE and here I find these options and have a feeling i will need to order one of each and go from there.

Tom Ford SS2011 collection in Vogue USA December 2010 Photographed by Steven Meisel

The collection that everyone wanted to see but only a select few could, we now have a glimpse of. Personally I think that it is a fantastic idea to not to publicly show the collection. Because it's all shown in September, we feel like it is old news by the time the season comes around to wear it. It also gives high street stores the opportunity to produce competitive copies of the collection which causes it to loose it's exclusivity. It's all a very 70's look going on here which is modelled by Carolyn Murphy, Anja Rubik, Joan Smalls, Stella Tennant, Amber Valletta, Karen Elson and Edita Vilkevicitute.

I don't know how he does it but Tom just manages to look sexier the older he gets!!!!!!!!!
