It started with a Colour Review, I did have my colours done when I was very young, but to double check (because it can change) I was confirmed as a 'Sultry Winter'. All colours are basically split into the four seasons and then divided again into lights, darks and brights and I look best in the dark winter colours. Blood Reds, Navy Blues, Emerald Greens, Deep Purples ect.
After colour then body measurements are taken and you are given a shape, I am an inverted triangle because I have wide flat shoulders and a small waist, I also have a long neck and a sharp jawline and a flat sided, heart shape face. From that you are given your best necklines, trouser shapes, skirt lengths, coat styles and an amazing range of do's and dont's in the clothing area. I came away with a handbook with drawings in and notes scribbled all over it and at the back are some bits of advice such as how to dress for occasions, how to budget for clothes, key items your wardrobe needs and how to sensibly shop.
As well as your colour season, you are also given a style genre from a list of personalities. After looking at some of the clothes that I took along for show and tell and taking a quiz, Kaye classified me both as 'Classic' and 'Diva'. Which is spot on for me. I am both of those things and so must have an element of each of them in every outfit I wear.
I also had a quick consultation with a top hair stylist about what haircut would best suit my proportions, how to shape my eyebrows properly and loads more.
The icing on the cake was the little wallet that I got with all of the colour samples of my best colours with ratings for each one and where is best for me to wear it such as, accessory, lower half only, evening wear, lingerie ect.
If you are willing to spend a bit of money on sorting your life out, you must have this done. Details down to the right shape handbag for you and with current, fashionable suggestions as to brands that you are most likely to find your 'style' with.
I am so thankful to Kaye and the money that i'm going to save from not buying clothes that I just end up not wearing or buying something that is a substitute for something else that I can't quite find or can't afford at the moment, weighs out the cost long term.
